Homesteaders Park was filled with the sound of children playing and people laughing during casual conversation on Saturday, June 22 as the One Day at a Time support group met for their first fun day. The day included a scavenger hunt where the kids searched the park for various items, like a spiderweb and heart-shaped rock.
Kassity Denbo, left, waits for Andrea McCallum to finish tallying the results of the hunt.
Part of the morning was spent playing with bubbles and toys, along with playing on the playground.
Andryk Deaver takes some time to check out the slides.
Austin Durbin shows his mom, Kelly Durbin, one of the toy lizards that were brought for the kids.
Taylar Denbo, left, helps Blye McCallum play with the “fluffy stuff,” a combination of cornstarch and shaving cream.
Other crazy concoctions for the kids to play with were “slime” and “flubber.” The group took a break around noon to have a barbecue. The day concluded with a huge water fight that was enjoyed by both the kids and the adults.
