Cumming, Goldenstein join Denver Post All-State list PDF Print E-mail

Two HHS Dragon baseball players earned All-State recognition for the 2013 spring baseball season, as reported in The Denver Post Sunday, June 9.

Senior Brett Cumming was included on the Class 2A All-State team while fellow senior Jaydin Goldenstein received honorable mention All-State honors.

According to Maxpreps.com, Cumming finished the season with 36 hits for a .500 average, 34 RBIs, 42 runs scored and six home runs. Goldenstein recorded 32 hits for a .464 average with 46 RBIs 36 runs scored and eight home runs.

Players named to the All-State list include Jacob Hasbrouk, Highland; Tate Kastens, Jacob Monsma and Alex Terpstra, Denver Christian; Gavin Liggett, Limon: Tyler Milligan and Denton Keys, Rye; Nathan Stehler, Lutheran; Jesse Cebulski, Las Animas; Caleb Smith, Kiowa; Tyler Kendall, Paonia; Shane Lovato, Swink; Chase Dunker, Sedgwick County; and Jake Lohr, Resurrection Christian.

Kastens from Denver Christian was also named player of the year while his coach Matt Darr was selected as coach of the year.

Brody Bueltell of Yuma was the only other player from the area to receive honorable mention recognition.
