After winning the Pitch, Hit and Run contest in Benkelman, Neb., Taryn Burrell and
Nolan Burrell each qualified for the state sectional competition. Both kids won their
division at the sectionals in Evans and earned a trip to Coors Field in Denver to
participate in the team championship contest Saturday, June 8.

Taryn, pictured at right, earned a third place in 11-12 girls while Nolan took the top
spot in 9-10 boys. Nolan’s score will now be compared to other team championship
winners for a chance to go to the National Pitch, Hit and Run contest during the MLB
All-Star Game in New York.

Taryn and Nolan are the children of Clint and Tish Burrell of Benkelman and the
grandchildren of Pat Heermann of Holyoke, the late Rick Heermann and Duane
and Leslie Werner of Holyoke.
