|Summer baseball season under way|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Summer baseball is in full swing in Holyoke as the season has officially begun. To kick off the season, Holyoke teams were scheduled to hit the road to Oshkosh, Neb. Wednesday, May 22.
Holyoke will be represented by two PeeWee teams, a Little League team and a Babe Ruth team.
All towns will have PeeWee, Little League and Babe Ruth teams with the exception of Fleming who only has Peewee and Babe Ruth teams.
Sedgwick County will host games in both Julesburg and Ovid. Teams should look to the season schedule to distinguish where they will face Sedgwick County on the road.
John Zilla, Matt Zilla and Sherman Kage have been named as the coaches this year. This will be the trio’s first year coaching summer ball in Holyoke.

John Zilla served as the HHS football and baseball coach for the 2012-13 year. He has also coached football and baseball in Scott City, Kan., as well as junior high wrestling in the past.
Matt Zilla just completed his freshman year at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kan., where he is a member of the Buster baseball team. He also coached little league baseball in Scott City for two years.
Kage also has an extensive coaching history. He coached high school and youth level softball in Akron for six years as well as club baseball in Brush for five years.

PeeWee games will begin at 4:30 p.m., Little League 6 p.m. and Babe Ruth at 7:30 p.m. Because Holyoke has two PeeWee teams, they will play a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m., with each game lasting three innings with a one-hour time limit.
