College student Jes-c Brandt returns to The Holyoke Enterprise staff this summer, contributing much to the news content, photos and design.
Brandt started at the Enterprise when she wrote stories for several weeks in the summer of 2007, and she returned for full summer’s employment in 2008.
She also reviewed the HHS fall plays for the last two years when she was home on Thanksgiving break.
Brandt just completed her sophomore year at Amherst College in Amherst, Mass., where she is majoring in psychology.
She has been accepted to study abroad at University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland for the spring 2010 semester. While there, she will study psychology and Irish studies.
While in Holyoke this summer, Brandt is also serving as a summer assistant for the Phillips County Arts Council, helping with public relations.
Additionally, she is teaching a third and fourth grade Sunday School class and will help with recreation at the July 6-11 Bible School at First Christian Church.
Brandt is participating in a weekly young adult group in the community, as well.
“I’m very happy to be back for the summer,” said Brandt. She added it’s always good to be able to see people through the newspaper that she might not otherwise come in contact with. “I look forward to a good summer.”
Brandt is the daughter of Jerry and Debbie Brandt of Holyoke. She noted she’s enjoying spending time with her siblings and watching them in their various sports. Brothers and sisters include Nicole, Becca, A.J., Issac and Dani.
