Carper is obtaining an interdisciplinary studies (elementary education) major with an emphasis in language arts. She also has a double minor in reading and psychology.

A devoted member of the community, Carper volunteers through the Waste Not program, as well as provides clothing, food and supplies to those in need through the Adopt-A-Family organization.

Carper has been recognized for several awards, which include being on the Dean’s List for academic excellence, being a tutor for the UNC Reading Center, as well as her many volunteering experiences.

Her professor Linda Leon had this to say about her: “She brought talent, skill, a keen mind, as well as a solid work ethic to everything that she did in and out of class.”

Carper is the daughter of Gary and Paula Carper of Holyoke and is a 2009 HHS graduate.
