HHS Family Career and Community Leaders of America and FFA held their annual service sale and Rocky Mountain oyster fry Monday, March 25.
A new format for the auction proved quite successful as total funds raised from the sale almost doubled last year’s endeavor.
One FFA member and one FCCLA member were on the stage in the elementary school gym at the same time, sparring in fun as bidding proceeded. The winning bidder selected one of the two students on stage and the bidding began again for the one remaining.
It provided a fun atmosphere for both the audience and the participants.
Income from the sale came in at $10,420. FFA made $6,390 with an average of $223 per member.
FCCLA made $4,030 with an average of $190 per member.
In addition to individual FFA and FCCLA member sales, the advisers of both organizations, Karen Pieper and Guy Kuntz, were also sold.
Additionally, the full officer teams of both organizations were on the auction block for group sales.
FCCLA and FFA members expressed sincere appreciation for the support received. The money from the fundraiser allows students to attend leadership training conferences.
