The Ruth Henderson Memorial Scholarship Fund established at the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado will provide significant financial assistance to one or more students who are current seniors at, or recent graduates of, high schools located in Morgan, Washington, Logan, Yuma, Phillips or Sedgwick counties.
Students who have been home-schooled and meet the award criteria are eligible to apply.
The Ruth Henderson Memorial Scholarship Fund was established at the Community Foundation to honor Henderson’s life-long dedication to teaching and community service.
Each recipient will benefit from a scholarship award equal to one year’s worth of tuition and fees, and the award may be increased by up to $1,000 per academic year to assist with the purchase of required learning materials. The scholarship may be renewed for up to three years.
Applicants must intend to pursue a career in teaching, demonstrate financial need, be U.S. citizens and Colorado residents, be eligible for in-state tuition rates and plan to attend an accredited, publicly funded college or university in Colorado.

“An award from this scholarship fund could significantly impact a student’s educational journey and future career,” Heather Scott, the Community Foundation’s donor services coordinator, said. “We encourage potential applicants to review the criteria on our website and then use our online application tool to easily and securely submit their information to the selection committee.”
