|Holyoke track committee has not given up on track project|

A big “Congrats” to the Holyoke High School Track team and coaches on a very successful track season and on your accomplishments at State Track 2009—what a way to end the season!
As many of you are aware, in the last few years, a Track Committee has worked towards the goal of an all-weather track facility, which would also include updates and lighting for the football field. We have worked towards this goal with the hope of obtaining a GOCO grant along with other grants and fundraising monies.
We have been supported in this endeavor by community members, students, youth and businesses, and we wanted to let everyone know—we haven’t given up! Although our original timeline and plans had to be changed, we are hoping to move forward with fundraising and grant applications, so at some future point Holyoke will have a facility that benefits the entire community.
As many of the original committee members’ children are older and will not still be in school when this goal is realized, we are hoping there are families with younger children who will begin to work with us in this endeavor.
Once again, congratulations to the Track Team! It is amazing what you have accomplished without a competent practice facility, having to travel elsewhere to utilize practice facilities suitable for competition in preparation for important meets. Imagine the possibilities!
