Child care provider training class planned PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Thursday and Friday, Jan. 24-25, the Northeast Colorado Child Care Resource and Referral will be holding its two-day pre-licensing class “There’s No Place Like Home” for individuals who want to become licensed child care providers.

This training will be held in Yuma at the Rural Communities Resource Center and is open to individuals throughout Northeast Colorado.

Licensed family child care providers offer care in their homes to a small group of children. As a home-based business, the family child care provider develops their own rules for operating—such as what hours they will be open, what their daily schedule will be and how much they charge.

Home providers also have the opportunity to be at home with their children or grandchildren instead of leaving these children in the care of someone else while they work outside the home.

NCCCRR helps people become licensed family child care providers. They have state licensing packets available, offer the two-day training and other trainings required and can answer questions people have about the licensing process. NCCCRR also has funds for those in Lincoln County to help pay for licensing costs.

To find out how to turn caring for children in one’s home into a great way to make a living or to pre-register for the class, contact Sheila at 970-848-3867 or toll free at 1-877-338-2273 (choose your county).

NCCCRR is a program of the Rural Communities Resource Center. It is a Qualistar Colorado partner receiving funds through CDHS. Funds are also received by the Lincoln and Yuma County Departments of Human Services.
