Commissioners to be sworn in Tues. morning

The public is invited to a brief swearing-in ceremony for Phillips County Commissioners Harlan Stern and Don Lock Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 9 a.m. at Phillips County Event Center in the Biesemeier Room. A small reception will follow.

ESL, GED reg. is Monday

Registration for Phillips County Family Education Services ESL and GED classes will be Monday, Jan. 7 from noon-6 p.m. at Phillips County Event Center. Their after-school program also resumes Monday, Jan. 7.

Ackerman to speak next Thursday

Jerry Ackerman, a nationally-known speaker, will inspire and motivate parents and community members with a practical, relevant and humorous message at the HHS auditorium on Thursday, Jan. 10. The program, which starts at 6:30 p.m., is sponsored by the Holyoke School District and the Title I Department.
