In an effort to create enthusiasm and build up the Holyoke Elementary School band program, band students in grades 5-6 performed at their own concert last Thursday, Dec. 20 at the elementary school gym.
Band teacher Miko Martinez directed the bands—two groups full of confident young musicians.

They followed with “Time for Band,” “A Quarter’s Worth” and “Hot Cross Buns.” “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” featured soloists Lauren Bergner, Hunter Bergstrom, Eva Goytia, Tayler Hale, Josie Herman, Remington Hielscher, Emily Jelden, Makayla Knutson, Jackie Valenzuela, Xander Speicher and Taeryn Trumper.
