The Cedaredge Bruins held on to a two-point lead Saturday, Nov. 24 for an 18-16 victory over the Buena Vista Demons for the Class 1A state football championship. The game was played at Buena Vista High School.

The Bruins entered the playoffs as the No. 3 ranked team while the Demons entered as the top-ranked team.

Both teams ran through the first round, quarterfinals and semifinals to reach Saturday’s title game. Buena Vista entered the game undefeated with a 12-0 record while Cedaredge held an 11-1 record.
