A new attraction will be on display during this year’s annual Holyoke Chamber of Commerce’s Country Christmas and Parade of Lights celebration Monday, Dec. 3.
The Kyle and Holly Hendrix family of Wray will display reindeer from Velvet Antler Velvet Noses Reindeer Co. The reindeer are scheduled to be on display on the Phillips County Courthouse lawn from 6-8 p.m. for Holyoke community members to enjoy.
The annual Christmas celebration will begin at 4 p.m. with the showing of “I’ll be Home For Christmas” at the Peerless Theatre. Also at 4 p.m. and running until 7:30 p.m. will be a theme gift basket silent auction at the Peerless.
The Phillips County Museum will be open from 4-8 p.m. where hot cider and cookies will be available for those wishing to step in out of the cold.

Children are encouraged to visit Santa’s Village at the Vet’s Hall and get their picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus between 4:30-8 p.m.
A soup supper served by Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department will be held at the Vet’s Hall from 5-8 p.m. Freewill donations will benefit the 2013 4th of July fireworks show. While at the Vet’s Hall, stop by the Jolly Dozen FCE Club table and participate in the candy guessing game.
At 6 p.m., Santa will lead the kids from the Peerless to the stoplight to turn on the city’s Christmas lights.
The annual Parade of Lights will begin at 6:30 p.m. along South Interocean Avenue.
Other specials and attractions planned include the Kids’ Holiday Village in the window of Sullivan’s Appliance, hot cider at the Lions Club Mini Park, homemade Christmas goodies and treats in front of the Oak Tree, Select a Book in front of the Flower Garden, hot chocolate and burritos in front of Don Francisco Mexican Store and home-based businesses at the Peerless and Viaero Wireless.
There will surely be something for all to enjoy as Holyoke prepares for the Christmas season.
