The “We believe in the HHS Dragon football team” theme was extended to tailgating activities in the HHS parking lot starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, prior to the 1 p.m. 1A quarterfinal football game with Wray.
Community members enjoyed booths set up by teachers, Partners in Education (PIE), parents, students and other Dragon fans. The tailgating fun included facepainting, as well as snack tables for cotton candy, popcorn, breakfast burritoes, hot dogs, cookies and more. Spectators received green and gold pom poms and towels, and enjoyed the warmth of the trash barrel fires in the parking lot.
A solid downpour of rain shut down the fun just after noon, but the rain stopped prior to kickoff. Concessions activity continued at the FCCLA stand on the Dragon field.
Luxie Harms holds still as Holyoke art teacher Christina Martinez puts the final touches on her facepainting masterpiece while Mylee Dirks observes. Elementary school teachers coordinated the facepainting fun at Saturday’s tailgating party.
