Enterprise sets early deadline for Monday
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, an early deadline for the Nov. 22 edition of The Holyoke Enterprise has been set for Monday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. All news and advertising material must be received by that time.
School to break for holiday
Students in Re-1J School District will get a break from classes Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 21-23 for Thanksgiving. Classes resume Monday, Nov. 26.
HVFD called three times
Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department was called to 116 N. Interocean Ave. Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 5:30 p.m. The owner of the establishment noticed an odor and called 911, according to fire chief Phillip Wirges. The building was evacuated while firemen searched for the problem. It was determined a neighboring business had been applying polyurethane varnish to some furniture. Once verified, firemen allowed the business to operate as usual.
Thursday, Nov. 8 at 2:10 p.m. HVFD was called to a fire alarm at Regent Park/Carriage House. After a search, no fire was found.
Monday, Nov. 12, HVFD was called to a one-vehicle rollover accident five miles south of Holyoke on Highway 385 at 4:37 p.m. Extrication was needed.
