Officials of Great Western United Corporation and Great Western Producers Cooperative, an organization of sugar beet growers, signed a purchase agreement today, providing for the cooperative to buy the Great Western Sugar Company, the nation’s largest processor of beet sugar.

The Ben Franklin store here was opened under new management Saturday, following sale of the business last week. New owners of the store are Mr. and Mrs. George Sumpter, recently of Garden City, Kan., who purchased the business from Mr. and Mrs. Carman Channer.
