One of Britain’s great vocal groups, The London Quartet, earlier known as Cantabile, will bring its outstanding program of comedy and classics to Ogallala, Neb. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Ogallala High School Theatre at 7 p.m. The Ogallala Regional Arts Council has booked this fabulous vocal group to begin the 2012-2013 concert series.
The London Quartet has been delighting audiences with its unique blend of humor and harmony for 25 years, counting up 15 albums, over a thousand concerts and more than 200 TV appearances worldwide.
All four members of the The London Quartet are classically-trained singers who first came to prominence in the early 1980s in the musical Blondel, which ran for 400 performances in London’s West End.
With repertoire ranging from early polyphony to cabaret, jazz and contemporary music, there is something for everyone in their shows.
Some of their numbers will include songs popularized by such well known groups as The Beach Boys, The Mills Brothers, The Hi-Lo’s, The Crew Cuts, The Beatles, Manhattan Transfer and even The Chordettes.
The London Quartet will invite the audience to share an evening of great singing, great songs and great fun!
2012-13 memberships will be available for purchase at the door. Everyone is invited to join the local arts council, which helps to support cultural opportunities in the area.
Whatever the venue, whatever the mood, for audiences from 8 to 80 years old, The London Quartet provides the perfect night out. Those attending are invited to join the arts council for refreshments following the concert and meet these exceptional performers.
