Written by Holyoke Enterprise

For anyone who has an itch to be around old tractors, machinery and hit-and-miss engines and to watch these old tractors come to life, this is the perfect opportunity. Mark the calendar and plan to attend the Longs Peak Antique Tractor and Engine Association’s antique tractor and engine show Friday-Sunday, Sept. 14-16 in Greeley at Greeley RV Park, 810 E. 28th Street.

Friday, Sept. 14, the show opens at 4 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, it opens with a free pancake breakfast, opening ceremony and flag raising at 9 a.m., running until 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 hours are from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Clayton Nelson, president of Longs Peak Antique Tractor Association, said this will be a family friendly event and should have something for the whole family to enjoy. It will be a working show where demonstrations of plowing, etc. will be shown as well as working mules.

There will be a pedal tractor pull for kids, and the Colorado Garden Tractor Pullers Association will be on hand for an exciting garden tractor pull.

Nelson said there will be food and drink vendors on site as well as craft vendors and those who wish to vend a few items of yesteryear from their tailgate.

This is the first year for this event, and there is no admission charge.

For more information, call Nelson at 970-686-9687 or Brian Gunderson at 970-674-5112.
