Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Cowboy boots or golf shoes, hockey stick or pool cue, everyone is invited to attend the 4th Annual Goofball Golfing for Green—a fundraiser for Rural Young Americans programs.

Sunday, Aug. 26 people are encouraged to grab a partner and golf clubs and head to the Wray Country Club. The event kicks off with check-in at 12:30 p.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The wrap up for the day will be a BBQ. At that time, all winners will be announced and prizes presented. First-place prize is two days golf for two guests at Ballyneal Golf Club plus numerous pin and hole prizes. All donations are tax-deductible.

Individual, family or corporate teams of any kind are encouraged to participate; novice or pro ... no skills are needed. Goofy hole activities will include: teeing off a saddle, putting with a pool cue, teeing with a hockey stick and putting with “special” putting balls.

Pre-registration is preferred. Entry forms can be picked up at the Rural Young Americans Center (Rural AmeriTowne facility), Wray State Bank, First Pioneer National Bank and the Wray Country Club.
