On Friday, Aug. 24, High Plains Heritage Quilters are sponsoring a special presentation by Pat Knoechel, who will demonstrate Quilt-In-A-Day’s newest book, “Tales of the First Ladies,” at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Colorado in Haxtun, from 6-8 p.m.

Eight traditional blocks in either 12-inch or six-inch sizes pay tribute to women who have earned their place in history.

Knoechel will also have the new patterns Opposites Attract, Parade of Braids and Storm at Sea.
