|Ortega graduates with master's in architecture|

Oscar Ortega recently graduated from University of California, Berkeley in the San Francisco, Calif. area, earning a master’s degree in architecture.
Attending Berkeley on a full-ride scholarship, Ortega specialized in residential and commercial highrise architecture. He also completed an internship with a San Fransicso-based firm that specialized in modern architecture.
After graduating from Holyoke High School in 2002, Ortega studied for one year at Fort Lewis and then moved to Arizona. In 2005 he began the architecture program at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.
He graduated from Arizona State in 2010 with dual BA and BS degrees in architecture and civil engineering.
Ortega will soon move to Mexico City, Mexico where he accepted a job with Rojkind Architecture. He will be working on multi-million dollar projects, including assisting the head architect with a project in Barcelona, Spain. He will also conduct his own $9 million project for a residential home in Madrid, Spain.
This recent grad said he always thought it was important to continue his education and that it’s good for people to continue learning and expanding their knowledge, which is something that will help tremendously later on in life.
Ortega is the son of Jesse and Raymunda Ortega of Holyoke.
