Arlene Harms has resigned her position as administrator at Melissa Memorial Hospital after 31 years with MMH.

Velma Biddle, one of only two living members of the Class of 1927 and the only one still living in Holyoke, will be the only one from her class who is able to attend Holyoke’s Alumni Banquet, marking 80 years since her high school graduation.

The Holyoke boys’ track team captured their fourth consecutive state championship, while the girls earned second-place honors, the highest ranking earned by the girls’ team in the history of the school.

KBC Trading and Processing Company was purchased May 15 from ConAgra by a group of 56 bean and popcorn producers and has returned to its original name from the 1930s, Jack’s Bean Company.

Arrowheads, spearheads, knives, scrapers and even a large animal skeleton and a couple of hearths were all part of the findings in the archaeological dig last week in Phillips County, four miles north and five miles west of Holyoke.
