Karina Avila plans to stay at home with her son and then attend college to be a nurse.

Reid Baumgartner plans to attend Doane College in Crete, Neb. and major in wildlife management. He will also be playing on the basketball team. He received the Peace Sign Award-given in Memory of Regan J. Murray, the “Rudy” Award in Memory of Tim Gribben, the Gracey Memorial Athletic Scholarship, the Clarence Robert Zoll Trust, the Doane College Community Award, the Doane College Men’s Basketball Scholarship, the Doane College Out of State Scholarship, the Doane College Family Scholarship, the Hastings College Pro Rege Scholarship, the Hastings College Basketball Scholarship and the Hastings College Academic Grant.

Renan Barrueco plans to return home to Tupa, Brazil and attend college. He may possibly return to the United States to study again as well.

Payin Beccera plans to attend Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction and major in computer science.

Antonine Bidaud plans to return home to Paris, France and attend college to study aviation. She hopes to return to the United States to complete some of her aviation requirements in the future.

Christopher Bieber plans to attend Colorado State University in Ft. Collins and major in electrical engineering. He received the Robert, Margaret and Garry Saylor Scholarship.

Emily Bradley plans to attend the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and major in elementary education with an emphasis in math. She received the Highline Electric Association Basin Electric Employee Scholarship, the Holyoke Education Association Scholarship, the FCE Jolly Dozen Scholarship, the University of Northern Colorado Freshman Provost Scholarship and the Creighton University Academic Scholarship.

Izzy Chafino plans to attend Faust Institute of Cosmetology in Storm Lake, Iowa to study cosmetology.

Teanna Clark plans to attend Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction and major in art education. She received the Holyoke Marketplace Scholarship.

Annie Daniel plans to attend Front Range Community College in Ft. Collins and major in business. She received the Justin Strode Scholarship.

Yazmin Diaz plans to continue to stay at home to raise her two children and someday attend college to be a nurse.

Kali Drees plans to attend Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla. and major in biology. She received the Jack Geist Memorial Scholarship.

Mark Edmonds plans to attend Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. He will also wrestle on the wrestling team. Mark received the Tim and Larry Stroh Memorial Scholarship and the Bucknell University Premium Scholarship.

Michaela Elmquist plans to attend Amarillo College in Amarillo, Texas and major in elementary education.

Margarita Fierro plans to attend Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction and major in business administration.

Laura Gerk plans to attend Northeastern Junior College and major in pre-veterinary medicine. She will also be playing softball. Laura received the Ag Power Equipment Company Scholarship, the Mary Ann and Joel S. Biddle Scholarship, the Grainland Coop Scholarship, the Highline Electric Association Scholarship, the Northeastern Junior College Jack Petteys Scholarship, the Northeastern Junior College Softball Scholarship, the Northeastern Junior College Hope Scholarship, the Western Nebraska Community College Admission Scholarship, the Western Nebraska Community College Academic Scholarship, the Nebraska Wesleyan University Award, the Doane College Community Award and the University of Northern Colorado Provost Freshman Scholarship.

KrisAnna Ham plans to attend the University of Colorado in Boulder and major in pre-med. She received the Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation Charla Berry Memorial Scholarship, the Len Balderson Education Scholarship Trust, the Colorado University Academic Scholarship and the Doane College Community Award.

Carolina Hermosillo plans to attend Aims Community College and major in business management. She received the Holyoke Marketplace Scholarship.

Shellie Hysell plans to attend Northeastern Junior College and major in early childhood education.

Javier Juarez plans to work and then attend Casper College to study pipe welding.

Caleb Kafka plans to attend Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, Neb. and major in livestock production. He received the National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Foundation Scholarship and the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Academic Scholarship.

Austin Killin plans to attend Stanford University. He receives the Vieselmeyer Seed Pioneer Community Investment Group Scholarship, the Highline Electric Association Basin Electric Scholarship, the Mary Ann and Joel S. Biddle Scholarship, the St. Louis University Vice President’s Scholarship, the Gonzaga University Trustee’s Scholarship, the University of Denver Chancellor Scholarship, the Seattle Pacific University Trustee’s Scholar Award and Phillip W. Eaton Scholarship, the University of Redlands Achievement Award and Presidential Scholarship and the Santa Clara University Provost Scholarship.

Amy Krogmeier plans to attend Benedictine College in Roeland Park, Kan. She received the FBLA Business Challenge Scholarship sponsored by Bank of Colorado, Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke Marketplace and PC Telcom, the Chapter BM P.E.O. Scholarship, the Grainland Coop Scholarship, the Holyoke Music Parents Association Scholarship, the Partners in Education Scholarship, the Len Balderson Education Scholarship Trust and the Benedictine College Academic Award.

Kris Lanckriet plans to attend college and study mechanics.

Erin Lebsack plans to work for a year and then attend Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington to study veterinary sciences.

Jeremy Loutensock plans to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for two years and then attend Brigham Young University Idaho and study law. He received the Stanley and Shirley Travis Memorial Scholarship, the Partners in Education Scholarship, the Nell Propst Northeast Colorado Local History Scholarship and the Brigham Young Academic Scholarship.

Kris Loya-Rodriguez plans to attend Lincoln Technical College in Denver and major in welding.

Skyler Mayfield plans to attend Western State College in Gunnison. He received Western’s Scholar Award.

Nicholas Mitchell plans to attend Benedictine College in Roeland Park, Kan. He received the Benedictine College Scholarship, the Northeastern Junior College Hope Scholarship and the Northeastern Junior College Andy and Theda Anderson Scholarship.

Leo Ochoa plans to work.

Brooke Parker plans to attend Colorado Christian University in Lakewood and major in psychology. She received the Larry Stroh Scholarship-provided by the Holyoke Marketplace, the Holyoke Music Parents Association Scholarship, the Grace Ferguson Memorial Scholarship, the William Lutze Education Trust Fund, the Centennial Mental Health Scholarship, the Colorado Christian University FCA Partner Scholarship and the Colorado Christian University President’s Scholarship.

Harry Paulin plans to return home to Clyde, New Zealand. He has a half year left of school and then plans to attend college.

Broc Pelle has enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He will leave June 4 for boot camp at the MCRD in San Diego, Calif. and train to be in the infantry.

Natasha Peregoy plans to work for a year and then attend college to study cosmetology and pediatric care. She received the Fred and Ella Kropp Family Education Trust and the Holyoke Marketplace Scholarship

Alex Quintana plans to attend Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction and major in kinesiology with a concentration in adapted physical education. He will also be on the track team. Alex received the Viola L. Colglazier Memorial Scholarship Fund, the FCE Jolly Dozen Club Scholarship, the Holyoke Lions Club Scholarship, the Partners in Education Scholarship, the Hispanic Annual Salute Scholarship, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver Scholarship, the Colorado Mesa University First Generation Scholarship, the Colorado Mesa University Academic Award and the McPherson Academic and Athletic Scholarship.

Gabriella Quintana plans to attend Aims Community College and major in nursing.

Parker Redfern has enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He leaves for boot camp on June 4 at the MCRD in San Diego, Calif. where he will train to be combat support.

Whitni Redman plans to attend McCook Community College and major in pre-med. She will also play on the volleyball team. Whitni received the Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation Legacy Scholarship, the Holyoke Music Parents Association Scholarship, the Partners in Education Scholarship, the FBLA District 4 Scholarship, the McCook Community College Scholarship, the York College Volleyball Scholarship, the York College Academic Scholarship, the Western Nebraska Community College Show Choir Scholarship, the Hastings College Crimson Scholarship, the Peru College Board of Trustees Scholarship, the Bethany College Academic Merit Scholarship, the Doane College Van Hoy Scholarship, the Doane College Board of Trustees Scholarship and the Drake University Academic Scholarship.

Alyssa Roll plans to attend Northeastern Junior College and major in equine management. She received the 2012 Phillips County Fair Queen Scholarship and the Northeastern Junior College Hope Scholarship.

Coleton Spitz plans to attend Eastern Wyoming College. He received the Reimer Family Education Trust, the Eastern Wyoming College Division of Business & Technology Scholarship, the Eastern Wyoming College Rodeo Scholarship and the Wyoming Border Scholarship.


The emotions were high Sunday during Holyoke's graduation. Tears of happiness and sadness were shed as classmates came together one last time as a group to say "good-bye" or "I'll see you later" to good friends. Mariah Struckmeyer plans to attend Northeastern Junior College and then Otero Junior College, to study nursing and get a paramedic certificate. She received the Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation Winona Rouze Nursing Scholarship, the Class of 1956 Scholarship, the V.F.W. Zeiler-Owens-Lindsay Post 6482 two-year Scholarship, the Highline Electric Association Scholarship, the Hutt Family Education Trust and the Northeastern Junior College Hope Scholarship.

Matt Wittman has enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He will leave for boot camp on Aug. 8 at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Calif. and train for combat engineering.

Jordan Zeiler plans to attend Chadron State College in Chadron, Neb. and major in pre-nursing. She received the Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation Charla Berry Memorial Scholarship, the Carolyn J. and Dennis J. O’Neal Scholarship, the Viola L. Colglazier Memorial Scholarship Fund, the V.F.W. Zeiler-Owens-Lindsay Post 6482 four-year Scholarship and the University of Wyoming Rocky Mountain Scholars Award.
