Three Holyoke High School girls’ golf team members played in the regional golf tournament Tuesday, May 8 in Broomfield. Holyoke finished in 11th place and was the only team competing with three players instead of four. The Dragons were led by Makayla Spitz who turned in an 18-hole score of 103. Teammates Caitlyn Kramer and Alyssa Cordova shot 124 and 129 respectively.
Alyssa Cordova pitches the ball earlier this year in Broomfield won the tournament with a team score of 235. The team had three players finish in the top six. Taylor Dorans won the regional championship after carding a 77. Her teammate Alex Briggs also shot a 77 but was given second after the playoff. The regional tournament was the last of the year for Holyoke as their season comes to an end. Others finishing this year’s season were Kelsey Kramer and Alex McCallum.
