|Smith completes outdoor season|

Marissa Smith, a sophomore at Colorado State University and a sprinter for the CSU track and field team, finished her outdoor season by competing at the Mountain West Conference Championships held at Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs May 9-12.
She was one of only 28 women selected from the CSU women’s squad to compete.
The CSU women finished second in the MWC with 135 points, behind TCU with 147.
This was the best finish for the CSU women since 2008.
The 4x400 meter relay team, in which Smith ran the lead leg with a split of :57.5, finished in seventh with a time of 3:53.32. Just before the race, two members of the relay team were pulled and replaced due to illness and injury.
Smith is majoring in health and exercise science with a health promotion concentration and a minor in business administration. The 2010 HHS graduate is the daughter of David and Rhonda Smith of Holyoke.
