|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Everything from sports schedules to Vacation Bible Schools to multiple summer fun activities will be included in the Holyoke Happenings Summer Fun 4U Guides which are being distributed this week.
Guides will be sent home with students in grades K-8 and are also available at the HHS office. Additionally, they will be available around town or can be obtained by calling CSU Extension at 854-3616 or Family Education Services at 854-2595.
Holyoke Happenings is sponsored by Phillips County Family Education Services, CSU Extension Phillips County Office, City of Holyoke, Phillips County Commissioners, Holyoke Enterprise and Race Consulting & Repair as a way to inform the community of all the activities available.
Summer courses available range from weather observation and recording to beginning rocketry, crocheting, babysitting, culinary camp and much, much more.
Sports camps encompass Golden Dragon martial arts, M&K Gymnastics, basketball, volleyball and more.
Summer softball, baseball, t-ball and machine pitch are scheduled, and activities are also available at the swimming pool, theater, library, museum and raceway.
Holyoke Happenings also highlights conservation camps and a fishing clinic.
In this first year of Holyoke Happenings, organizers are hoping for input as to additional activities that should be included and how to make the information guide a piece that benefits families looking for summer activities.
