It’s just about time for kids to begin playing on a brand new playground at Homesteaders Park at Phillips County Fairgrounds. The structure is complete and County Administrator Randy Schafer said crews were scheduled to be back this week to lay the rubber surface.

Schafer was also sad to mention vandals had already visited the playground. Someone damaged a few mirrors and spray painted part of the structure. The county has video surveillance cameras that will soon be installed to monitor the area.

Once the rubber surface is installed, Schafer said work will begin on the enhancement project as well as the Frisbee golf course.  —Enterprise photo
