5th and 6th grade band students perform recital PDF Print E-mail

 Fifth and sixth grade band students entertained with a night of music at their spring recital held Monday, April 20 at the HHS auditorium. The young musicians performed a variety of instrumental and vocal pieces both in solos and small ensembles.
 Pat Wiebers was the director at Monday’s recital and also provided piano accompaniment for the students.
 She noted the students were able to pick the songs of their choice and could choose others to play or sing with resulting in a unique collection of music and small groups. In addition to traditional band instruments, sixth graders also had the opportunity to perform on the guitar this year.

 Alex McCallum, “Reflection” and “Spanish Theme;” Jack Gorwitz, “Ode to Joy;” T.J. Gertner, “Stick to It;” Ramon Favela, “Cool Blues;” Jesus Martinez, “When the Saints Go Marching In;” Marques Harvey, “Frere Jacques;” Kaetlynne Overton, “Do Wah Diddy,” “Rio Grande” and “Ode to Joy;” Luke Stewart, “Dr. Rock;” Sidney Struckmeyer, “Hard Rock Blues;” Nicholas Ortner, “On the Move;”  and Morgan Golden, “Trumpet Hero.”
