Brandt serves as CPA president
Also during the ceremony last Saturday, Holyoke Enterprise publisher Brenda Brandt officially accepted the president’s gavel from past president Bob Moore.
Moore, former executive editor of the Fort Collins Coloradoan, announced in September 2011 he would be stepping down after accepting a job in Texas. Brandt was serving as vice president of the board and gladly stepped in to serve the remainder of the term. She will stay on for another year after being elected president during the CPA annual meeting Thursday, Feb. 23 at the convention.
She has served on the board since September of 2007.
Tomky, Lee, Sullivan and Brandt participated in informative break-out sessions Friday and Saturday during the annual convention.
There was much talk about how journalism is shifting toward a technical age. The theme for the 2012 convention was “the NEW normal” which depicts how mobile and social media have taken hold of how people gather news today.
