|JV boys end 14-4|

Holyoke’s boys’ JV basketball team wrapped up the 2011-12 season Friday, Feb. 17 with a 47-20 victory over Sedgwick County. The previous night, the boys earned an impressive 69-33 over Akron at home.
The Dragons ended with a 14-4 season record. Coach Aaron Sprague was very pleased with how the team played all year. He was quick to mention the defensive play of the boys throughout the season.
Holyoke managed to hold teams to an average of 35.8 points per game over the 18-game stretch.
Against Akron, Holyoke held a commanding 27-7 lead after the opening quarter. They went on to outscore the Rams 16-10 in the second, 11-4 in the third and 15-12 in the fourth.
Harry Paulin led the team with 16 points. Logan Zeiler scored 15, Deyten Klein 13, Zach Roll 10, Ryan Parker seven, Brett Cumming four, Matt Golden three and Tanner Smith one.
The Dragons grabbed a nice win to wrap up the season Friday, Feb. 17 in Ovid.
The Cougars pounced out to a 9-8 lead after the opening quarter. After regrouping, Holyoke dominated the rest of the game. They took the lead, 22-12, at the half.
The Dragons outscored Sedgwick County 12-5 in the third and 13-3 in the final period to secure the win.
Paulin led the team with 12 points followed by Zeiler with nine, Jesus Martinez five, Roll, Smith and Cumming four apiece, Chris Bieber and Wyatt Powell three, Daniel Bencomo two and Parker one.
