Girls jayvee finishes season with two losses PDF Print E-mail

Junior varsity girls’ basketball finished their regular season last week with two losses to Akron and Sedgwick County.

Holyoke JV 18, Akron 24

HHS hosted Akron Thursday, Feb. 16, but the Rams got the best of them, resulting in an 18-24 loss for the Dragons.

Holyoke led by two at the end of the first quarter, but Akron had a good second period, leaving the Rams up 17-11 at halftime.

The Dragons kept Akron to zero points in the third, bringing the score within one of the lead, but they failed to bring home the win in the final quarter.

Zuri Lopez was Holyoke’s point leader with six, followed by Audi Peña and Megan Vieselmeyer with five apiece and Jacinda Krueger with two.


 

Holyoke JV 21, Sedgwick County 27

It was another close game for the JV girls Friday, Feb. 17 in Ovid, when they lost to Sedgwick County 21-27.

The Dragons led by three at the end of the first quarter, with the score tied at 14 to end the first half. The Cougars kept them to zero points in the third, allowing Sedgwick County to build a lead for the win.

Leading Dragon scoring was Peña with eight points followed by Stefani Razo with four; Jentry Andersen, Vieselmeyer, Jordan Bernard and Jacinda Krueger two apiece; and Tia Huffman one.
