|JV boys pick up 2 wins|

Holyoke’s boys’ JV basketball team picked up two very nice wins over Akron and Caliche this past weekend.
They traveled to Akron Friday, Jan. 27 and beat the Rams 59-38. The next night, they downed Caliche 46-42.
Holyoke 59, Akron 38
The junior varsity squad built up a nice 19-8 lead after the first quarter of action Friday night. Both teams managed to hang 13 points on the board in the second quarter giving the Dragons the halftime advantage.
Holyoke was able to outscore Akron 14-11 in the third and 13-6 in the final quarter to secure the win.
Harry Paulin led the team with 16 points followed by Tanner Smith nine, Deyten Klein eight, Ryan Parker and Logan Zeiler six, Tito Fierro five, Chris Bieber three and Zach Roll, Jaydin Goldenstein and Wyatt Powell two apiece.
Holyoke 46, Caliche 42
Holyoke fell in a seven-point hole early but didn’t give up Saturday at Caliche. They outscored the Buffaloes 12-8 in the second to pull within three, 17-20 at the half.
Both teams put 17 points through the hoops in the third and Holyoke really shined in the final quarter. They outscored Caliche 12-5 to steal the four-point victory.
Paulin led the team with 13 points. Zeiler scored nine, Parker eight, Goldenstein five, Smith four, Brett Cumming, Fierro and Klein two and Roll one.
