|JV girls beat Wiggins|

Holyoke girls’ jayvee basketball team finished last weekend with a loss to Chase County, Neb. and a win over Wiggins.
In Imperial, Neb. Friday, Jan. 6 the JV team struggled against their Chase County opponent, losing 18-42 to the Longhorns.
The third quarter was their strongest, with 12 points over Chase County’s five, but the Dragons were outscored in all other quarters, giving Chase County a big advantage at the buzzer.
Zuri Lopez led Dragon scoring with six points followed by Audi Peña and Megan Vieselmeyer with four apiece, Tia Huffman three and Shobi Burris one.
Holyoke JV turned things around Saturday, Jan. 7 when they beat Wiggins 35-24 on their home court.
HHS went into halftime with a 17-15 lead over the Tigers. They kept Wiggins’ third-quarter score to zero, adding 10 points to their lead. Wiggins outscored Holyoke by one in the fourth quarter, but the Dragons had already secured a big win.
Top scorer was Peña with 13 points followed by Jacinda Krueger with six; Huffman, Stefani Razo and Lopez four apiece; and Jordan Bernard and Rosa Ochoa two apiece.
