CASB posted the superintendent position March 23, and will accept applications through the April 17 deadline.
In the brochure announcing the superintendent vacancy, CASB emphasized the board invites applications from candidates who have demonstrated essential qualities and aptitudes to be an excellent leader in this district and community.
Qualifications identified in the recent meetings with Cito are highlighted in the brochure, as follows:
—understanding of small rural communities and schools.
—strong background in instruction, finance and budget.
—excellent communication and listening skills.
—willing to be visible and involved in both classrooms and community.
—ability to build and maintain trust with community, staff and school board.
—willing to make tough decisions and follow through.
—current on best educational practices.
—ability to build on existing programs to improve achievement.

Cito is scheduled to meet with the board Tuesday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. Interviews with candidates will be scheduled Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2.
In its superintendent search with CASB, Cito emphasized the local school district pays one fee until a superintendent is on board. “We’re here to help the district find the right person,” he added.
