Chamber Community Night successful despite weather PDF Print E-mail

    Holyoke’s 26th annual Community Night, sponsored and hosted by Holyoke Chamber of Commerce, went on as scheduled despite some inclement weather on Monday night, March 23.
    Though numbers were down from last year, hundreds still turned out for the annual event which showcased a total of 40 businesses and organizations set up to advertise their services.
    Seasoned pork provided by Seaboard Foods was a hot item, as Chamber of Commerce members served 375 meals. FBLA members served the beverages.
    Booth drawings were also popular as people made their way from one booth to another to enter their names for some great prizes.
    As for the Chamber drawings for Holyoke Scrip, Bradley Cumming made out with a $25 kid prize and Russell Adels was the winner of the $50 adult scrip drawing.
    Golden Plains Recreation/Peerless Center also held its annual drawing. This year, there was one big prize: a 32” LCD HD flat-screen TV. The lucky winner was Nici Bishop.
    The annual event was a fun venture for both young and old alike, as animals, balloons, great treats and a mass of information were all part of the night.
    The businesses and organizations that were set up throughout the HHS old gym and commons area included:
    A Caring Pregnancy Resource Center, Arbonne—Brandi Helgoth/Heidi Spitz, Bank of Colorado, Baucke Funeral Service, Bill’s Radio and TV, Carriage House Assisted Living, Colorado U.S. Route 6 Heritage Corp., Creature Features Pet Store, Dry Creek Alpacas, Early Childhood Council LPS, Edward Jones.
    FBLA members, FCCLA members, First Pioneer National Bank, Gerk Funeral Home, GPRC/Peerless Center, Highline Electric Association, Holyoke Lions Club, Hospice of the Plains, Image Photography, Inklings Bookstore, Melissa Memorial Hospital, Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation, Miche Bag—Dona Adler, Rep., MV Equipment, Northeastern Junior College, PC Telcom.
