|Rangeland meeting is Saturday, April 16|

The Savory Institute in cooperation with Burlington Conservation District (BCD), Three Rivers Alliance (TRA) and the Yuma Conservation District (YCD) are hosting a series of rangeland workshops to assist producers with rangeland and herd management. With this level of training, producers from the region will be able to propel themselves into a more profitable and sustainable level of management.
The Savory Institute focuses on a holistic approach to range management. The meeting will include an introduction of trainers (who are producers themselves), examples of the Savory Institute’s work on rangeland from other areas, an overview of what participants can expect in the coming months and discussion about what training would be the most valuable.
The first meeting will rely on local input to build the foundation and set the priorities for what topics future workshops will address in the coming year. Workshops will vary based upon what the local community requests. The workshops may cover rangeland management techniques, economic analysis and long-term decision making tools. The Savory Institute is able to provide the training thanks to a grant from Risk Management Agency.
The initial meeting will be held Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m. at the Scout Center in Burlington.
