Warm, spring weather greeted Holyoke tracksters at the April 2 track meet in Burlington.

Senior Heather Duester came away with two individual first-place honors in the 200 and 400 meter races. In triple jump action, senior Marci Vasa also claimed first place.

Girls’ relays earning top honors included the 4x100 meter and sprint medley relays with tracksters Mallory Bennett, Jacinda Krueger, Duester and Vasa.

HHS girls earned fourth place out of 28 teams with 60 points.

With 15 points, Holyoke boys were ranked 14th out of 24 teams at Saturday’s meet.

Girls’ results

200 meter dash—Duester, first, :28.28.

400 meter dash—Duester, first, 1:04.01.

100 meter hurdles—KrisAnna Ham, third, :18.32.

4x100 meter relay—Vasa, Bennett, Krueger and Duester, first, :53.64.

Sprint medley relay—Krueger, Bennett, Vasa and Duester, first, 1:56.68.

Triple jump—Vasa, first, 34’.

Boys’ results

800 meter run—Alex Quintana, third, 2:13.47.

300 meter hurdles—Quintana, fifth, :43.39.

Triple jump—Seth Baker, fifth, 39’9.75”.

 

Upcoming action

Holyoke tracksters travel to Chappell, Neb. for the Creek Valley Tri-State meet Friday, April 8 with events scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.

Next week, HHS will compete at a Yuma meet Tuesday, April 12 at 12 noon and a Wray meet Thursday, April 14 at 2 p.m.
