East Phillips County Hospital District will host its annual health fair Saturday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at Holyoke High School.
Those who had their blood drawn will be able to pick up their lab results and visit with a provider about them that day. Clinicians will be present to help with lab results.
Also, those who haven’t had their blood drawn will be able to do so on Saturday. Those planning to do so need to fast for 12 hours before the test. Results will not be available on the same day, but can be picked up later at the hospital.
In addition, providers will be on hand to offer eye and ear checks, height, weight, blood pressure and body fat analysis, and screenings for anxiety and depression as well as for peripheral vascular disease.
A respiratory therapist from Apria will be on hand to discuss sleep studies.
Numerous educational booths and stations will also be set up, providing more information.
“This is an excellent opportunity for community members to get a good deal of great information all in one place,” MMH administrator John Ayoub said.
“MMH is proud to offer an annual health fair as one of many services designed to make our mission of a healthy community a living reality.”
Ayoub said there are only a few services that need to be paid for—and those are done at greatly discounted rates. “The vast majority of information and services are free,” he added.
“We understand that not everyone will take advantage of these great resources, but we want to continue to make them available, and encourage their use, to those who can and will.”
