The reins were passed over to new owners this week at Jake’s Feed and Supply in Holyoke.
Curt and Brenda Lebsack became the new owners of the store Tuesday, March 1 after purchasing the business from Randy and Jackie Hale.
Randy contacted Curt a couple months ago about selling the business. “It looked like it would work real well so we decided to give it a shot,” Curt said.
The Lebsacks have been long-time customers and feel the Hales have done a great job of building the business. They add the responsibility of the store to their farming operation duties south of Holyoke. Brenda also plans to continue working at Bank of Colorado.
Randy and Jackie opened the business April 4, 2005 and are pleased with the growth they have experienced in the six years. Randy said they have seen about a 40-percent growth each year.

The store will be managed by Ryan Travis who has been with the store for about a month and is originally from Wray. Randy will stick around for the next three weeks to help Travis adjust to the transition.
Some of the items the store offers are pet food, livestock feed and supplies, fencing materials and lawn and garden supplies. The Lebsacks stressed the inventory will remain the same.
The store is looking into custom feed mixes through Ranch-Way. Randy encourages customers to check with them for pricing options when it comes to custom feed.
“We provide what we consider the best value,” Randy said. “We don’t go for the cheapest price, and we don’t go for the most expensive either. We try to find the best value and get a good product for a decent price.”
The store will be open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m.-noon on Saturday. For questions call 854-7220.
