HHS wrestlers earned a first, second, third and fourth-place finish to rank ninth as a team at the Brighton Invitational Saturday, Jan. 29.

Mark Edmonds won the 125-lb. bracket, while Broc Pelle took second at 171 lbs., Skyler Dittmer third at 135 and Jesus Martinez fourth at 215.

The wrestlers managed 80.5 points to place ninth in the 15-team tourney, and the kids wrestled well, said coach Jack Garrison.

Heading into final weeks of the season, coach Garrison said he thinks the team is sitting well in terms of shape, conditioning and skills.

He added this weekend’s dual meet tournament at Eaton on Saturday, Feb. 5 should be just what they need to polish off before regionals the following weekend.

Coronado won the Brighton Invitational with 240.5 points, followed by Brighton 149.5, Fort Lupton 123, Burlington 105, Yuma 99, Prairie View 94, Fort Morgan 84, Brush 83, Holyoke 80.5, Hinkley 76.5, Cherokee Trail 68, Erie 55, Denver East 44, Pueblo Centennial 40 and Niwot 33.5.

Individual match results from Saturday’s tournament follow:
