Holyoke girls’ jayvee basketball team suffered a loss to a tough Yuma team Tuesday, Jan. 18. They came back for a win over Wiggins Friday, Jan. 21.

 

Holyoke JV 18, Yuma 38

First quarter action last Tuesday left Holyoke JV tied with Yuma at six points. The Dragons were outscored in the remaining three quarters, giving Yuma the big 38-18 win over HHS.

Top scorer for Holyoke was Marissa Chambers with six points followed by Maddie King, Becca Brandt, Audi Peña, Molly Brandt, Chandler Gerk and Jordan Zeiler with two apiece.

 

Holyoke JV 32, Wiggins 26

Scores were tight in the first half of Friday’s home game with Wiggins, leaving the Dragons with a one-point advantage at halftime.

HHS outscored the Tigers 19-14 in the second half for the 32-26 win.

Leading Dragon scoring was Peña with 10 points followed by King with six; Zeiler four; Chambers and Molly Brandt three apiece; and Tia Huffman, Emma Adams and Jordan Bernard two apiece.
