JV girls lose in overtime PDF Print E-mail

Coming off the long Christmas break, HHS girls’ JV basketball had a heartbreaking loss to Chase County, Neb. in overtime last Friday, Jan. 7. Traveling to Wiggins the next day, the Lady Dragons played well for a big win over the Tigers.


Holyoke JV 37, Chase Co. 41

Scores were tight in Friday’s game against the Longhorns. Holyoke was up by one point at halftime, but Chase County kept up the pace in the second half to tie the score at 33 at the buzzer.

Chase County outscored HHS 8-4 in the overtime period for the 41-37 win.

Top scorer for the Dragons was Maddie King with 12 points followed by Chandler Gerk with seven; Jordan Zeiler and Erin Vieselmeyer six apiece; and Zuri Lopez, Audi Peña and Marissa Chambers two apiece.


Holyoke JV 40, Wiggins 24

HHS started off strong in Saturday’s game in Wiggins, building up a 10-point lead by the end of the first quarter. They again outscored Wiggins in the third quarter and kept the scores even in the fourth for the 40-24 win.

King led in scoring with 19 points followed by Vieselmeyer with 14, Gerk four, Molly Brandt two and Brooke Parker one.
