Holyoke girls’ C team basketball had a disappointing start to their season with a loss to Haxtun Friday, Dec. 3 and a loss to Chase County, Neb. Monday, Dec. 6.


Holyoke 23, Haxtun 25

The Lady Dragons started off great in their home opener Friday night with a four-point lead at the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs pulled ahead by two points at halftime.

Scores were close in the second half, but Holyoke just couldn’t find the win, losing by only two points, 23-25.

Leading Dragon scoring was Audi Peña with 10 points followed by Jacinda Krueger with eight, Tia Huffman three and Emma Adams two.


Holyoke 23, Chase Co. 33

HHS hosted Chase County Monday night, but it was the Longhorns who came out on top.

Holyoke got outscored in three of the four quarters, with a final score of 23-33.

Peña was the top scorer with nine points followed by Zuri Lopez with four and Huffman, Adams, Jordan Bernard, Brooke Parker and Ilse Kamstra with two apiece.
