Fasten your seatbelts! The Holyoke High School drama department is about to take you on the ride of your life with their production of Around the World in 80 Days Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19-20 at 8 p.m. in the HHS auditorium.
Join fearless adventurer Phileas Fogg and his faithful servant as they race to beat the clock after agreeing to an outrageous wager that puts his fortune and his life at risk.
Audience members will encounter everything from stampeding elephants, raging typhoons and runaway trains in this unabashedly slapstick comedy/adventure by Mark Brown from the novel by Jules Verne.
“This is a much more ambitious show than last year’s Better Football Through High School Chemistry, and the actors have really risen to the occasion,” said director Carla Mayfield.
“I am so pleased and amused by what I am seeing on stage, and I can’t wait for the enitre community to see it too!”

“This show has also been truly collaborative across the student body,” added Mayfield. “So many kids have helped get this show together that the program will look more like a booklet than a program!”
See the set, costumes and everything in between come together Friday and Saturday nights in this year’s fall play Around the World in 80 Days.
