|Junior rodeo rides into Holyoke Friday|

The Colorado Junior Rodeo Association will stop in Holyoke for three days of exciting rodeo action beginning Friday, June 25 at Phillips County Fairgrounds.
The junior division will kick off rodeo action Friday night at 6:30 p.m. In order to accommodate members heading to Gallup for the Wrangler Jr. Finals, the junior division will be run on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
The complete rodeo will take place all day Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. PeeWee and senior divisions will wrap up the weekend on Sunday also beginning at 9 a.m.
Mutton bustin’ will be held at approximately 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
PeeWee events include barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, flag race and mutton bustin’. Junior and senior girls will compete in barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping and goat tying.
Junior boys events include breakaway roping, goat tying and dally ribbon roping. The senior boys will calf rope, ribbon rope and steer wrestle.
A mixed team roping and open team roping will be available in the senior division and open team roping in the junior division. Both divisions offer parent/child team roping.
Gale Wiebers said participants will come from Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Nebraska. The rodeo is free to the public and food vendors will provide food for participants and spectators. All event winners will receive prizes and the top finishers in each event will also receive prize money.
