My Little Angel to host life-size Candy Land
New to this year’s Dandelion Daze is a life-size Candy Land game sponsored by My Litte Angel, Early Childhood Council, LPS, Holyoke Chamber of Commerce and the Lisa B. Murphy Insurance Agency.
From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday children can participate in fun Candy Land activities on the north side of the courthouse. Stations with Candy Land characters will be set up along the game trail.
Invites for the life-size Candy Land are available in advance at First Pioneer National Bank.
Firefighters from the Wages Volunteer Fire Dept. will also be at the Courthouse Saturday to greet children from 10 a.m.-12 noon. The idea is to educate children that firefighters are friends and will help them during an emergency. There will be balloons and candy for the kids as well as cupcake decorating.
Event organizers are excited to offer children identification kits sponsored by the Lisa B. Murphy Insurance Agency in Haxtun. This is a wonderful tool for parents to use with law enforcement officials if their child should be missing.
Children can also stop by the booth sponsored by My Little Angel and Operation PC Cares. Kids can use paint to put their handprint and name on a cloth. These handprints will be made into a quilt to send to Phillips County troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
My Little Angel is a group of parents who do things for kids in honor of their children who have died. Fund raising for their Christmas toy drive will begin this weekend with the sale of raffle tickets for the Ultimate Backyard Giveaway, sponsored by Holyoke Chamber of Commerce, Holyoke Marketplace, First Pioneer National Bank, Hassler Crop Insurance, Highline Electric Association and Holyoke Community Federal Credit Union.
