Registrations are now being taken for the annual women’s retreat at the Imperial Bible Church. The retreat will be held at the church, 800 West 11th in Imperial, Neb., on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Theme for the retreat is “For Such a Time as This.”
Featured speaker this year is Karen Mackey of Burns, Wyo.
In her career lifetime, she has been a cosmetologist, hearing aid assistant, designer of wedding cakes and has been a church secretary for 15 years.
She has taught many Bible studies and is most at home around a table with several women and their Bibles. She is currently a mentor for Mothers of Preschoolers and an AWANA director.
Mackey is a member of the Front Range Christian Fiction Writers and is working on a fledgling writing career.
Her passions are many but first and foremost is a desire to know God better, love her husband and be the best mom and grandma she can be. She enjoys quilting and is never without a book. She and her husband, Jim, have five children and 10 grandchildren.
Mackey will give a talk both in the morning and afternoon. Retreat attendees will also have a chance to attend mini sessions on the following topics:
—“Does God Really Want Me to Exercise?” by Misty Richards.
