|Three council members to be elected April 6|

Three council members will be elected during a municipal election Tuesday, April 6.
Four-year terms for council members Jerry Banaka and Barry Winckler are up. Neither Banaka nor Winckler plan to seek re-election.
J.C. Peckham’s spot is up as he was appointed June 16, 2009. He filled the vacant seat of Sara Bohrer who announced her resignation May 19, 2009. Bohrer and her husband moved to Alamosa June 1. Peckham said he plans to seek re-election.
Nomination petitions are available at the office of the City Clerk/Treasurer and may be circulated and filed with the City Clerk beginning Friday, Feb. 5.
Deadline for filing a petition is Friday, March 12 at 5 p.m.
Persons may be a candidate for municipal office if he/she is:
—18 years of age or older on the date of the election.
—has resided in the city of Holyoke for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election.
—registered to vote.
Each nomination petition must be signed by at least 25 registered electors living within the city. Electors may register to vote at the office of the County Clerk and Recorder.
The final day to register to vote in the municipal election is March 5. Applications for an absentee ballot are available at the office of the City Clerk/Treasurer.
