|Swimmers place in Windsor dual|

HHS swimmers competing with the Sterling High School swim team were part of seven place-winning efforts in the Jan. 19 dual with Windsor at Sterling.
Holyoke coach Adaria Colver noted Pamela McWilliams has done very well recently in the distance freestyle events. She swam both the 200 free and the 500 free (400 in a meter pool like Sterling’s) against Windsor. Dropping considerable time in both races, McWilliams finished fourth in the 200 and third in the 400.
Briar Bergner’s excellent finish in her 100 breast earned fifth place and praise from her coaches.
Jordan Zeiler picked up fourth place in the 100 back, while Nicole Brandt finished fifth. Zeiler also earned fifth in the 50 free.
Zeiler and Amy Krogmeier were members of the second-place 200 free relay team, as well.
Also swimming in last Tuesday’s dual was HHS senior Lilian Menjivar.
Windsor won the dual meet 120-63.
Sterling was scheduled for a dual with Silver Creek at Centennial Tuesday, Jan. 26 and will host Estes Park Thursday, Jan. 28. The Conference meet is set for Feb. 5-6 at Greeley Rec Center, and state competition is Feb. 12-13 at Mountain View.
Coach Colver noted last week’s dual found former Holyoke resident Caitlin Tufts competing for Windsor. She and her sister Meagan started swimming with Holyoke’s summer club before moving to the front range.
Caitlin is the daughter of Brian and Linda Tufts and the granddaughter of Stan Willmon and Norma Warren of Holyoke.
